Donation of Mrs. Torrance
to the city of Pau and the Société des Chasses

In 1890,Mrs. Torrancecedes his property to the city of Pau, in memory of his sonAlfred Torrance,
killed during a steeplechase. 

By a clever arrangement ofMaster Massignac, the city of Pau is legatee and must maintain the buildings, while the crew is the exclusive usufructuary. 

The Pau Hunt is now over 180 years old and is still on this property in Berlanne with its kennel of historical interest built for three packs.
